Testimonial for Speaking Engagement

Aloha Ms. Wise:

Traditionally, this time of year is one for reflection.  As I look back at the highlights of this past year, one that shines brightly is your visit to Hawaii.

On behalf of the Muscular Dystrophy Association, our Executive Committee and the 500 families in Hawaii served by the Association, I would like to thank you for delivering a powerful keynote address during our annual ALS seminar...The thought provoking information you shared with us on the topic of “Preserving Emotional Health for Caregivers, Patients and Their Families” was a precious gift for all our hearts and minds.

During your short visit to Hawaii, you became the voice of the local people surviving this dreadful disease.  You spoke about the painful journey through ALS with your late husband...The experiences you described made us cry, made us laugh, but most importantly, gave us a collective sense of determination to be able to cope with ALS.

It is my greatest hope that you will continue to develop the new friendships started here in Hawaii.  People living with ALS, their families and friends still speak of you fondly because of the compassion you exuded.

Mahalo nui loa e Hauoli makahiki hou.  Thank you and Happy New Year!

Sincerely,

Jennifer Li

Health Care Services Coordinator
